I have Mortons Neuroma, what should I do?Updated 2 months ago

What is Morton’s Neuroma?

Morton’s neuroma is a thickening of the tissue around one of the nerves leading to the toes, most commonly between the 3rd and 4th toes. This can cause sharp or burning pain in the ball of the foot, tingling, or a feeling like there’s a pebble stuck in your shoe.

What Causes Morton’s Neuroma?

The main causes are footwear that squeezes the forefoot, repetitive stress from activities like running or court sports, and limited mobility or weakness in the small muscles of the foot. These factors can place excessive pressure on the nerve, leading to irritation and pain over time.

What Should I Do to Resolve Morton’s Neuroma?

Wearing wider, natural footwear can help reduce pressure on the forefoot. Exercises to improve foot strength, mobility, and balance can also support recovery and help prevent recurrence. In the short term, rest and ice may relieve symptoms, while long-term improvement comes from restoring natural foot function.
